According to The Verge, this Windows 10-powered Lumia 650 smartphone is meant for businessmen with its host of built-in apps like OneDrive and Office, etc. Other features on the phone make it “the smart choice for business.” The best part is that the phone appears thin and light and is a suitable low-range phone. Right now, the Redmond-based company is targeting the European market where it plans to launch its new handset on February 18.
There were earlier reports that the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be the last Lumia from the company. However, there will be another release of a Surface phone towards the end of the year. The decision to halt Lumia production came after Microsoft incurred loss in Windows phones business. In the wake of recuperating loss, the company annulled most of its Nokia deals amounting to $7.6 billion. Meanwhile, the company decided to pull out 7,800 jobs and restore its business.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella wants to focus on key areas that can fetch profit, instead of mass-producing random Windows phones. He still feels that Windows phones are inevitable to consumers but they need to be presented in unconventional ways that will appeal to a larger audience.
