First Lady Michelle Obama posted a beautiful message and picture on social media to celebrate her husband’s final birthday in the White House.
She posted a picture that shows her laughing with President Barack Obama at the Nordic State Dinner earlier this year. “55 years young and that smile still gets me every single day,” the First Lady wrote. “Happy birthday, Barack. I love you.”
The Daily Mail notes other celebrities and personalities also wished Obama on his 55th birthday. Vice President Joe Biden posted a picture of a friendship bracelet with his and Obama’s names on it on social media.
“Happy 55th birthday Barack! A brother to me, a best friend forever,” Biden wrote.
As reported by People, Obama usually spends his birthday like any other day. Last year on his birthday he met with United National Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in the oval office, while the year prior to that he signed a resolution that allowed the provision of funds for the Israeli Iron Dome defense. This afternoon, he will be giving a press conference from the Pentagon.
Glamour published an essay on Obama on Thursday, which shed light on why identified as a “feminist.” He said although the gap between men and women is bridging, there is a long road to travel in order to treat both genders on the same level.
He also said that, being a president, the burden of caring for their children has “disproportionately and unfairly fell on Michelle.”
