Swimmer Michael Phelps recently won his 21st gold medal, a feat that makes him one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the Olympic games.
With a highly impressive record of 23 medals to his name, he continues to prove his mettle in the 2016 Rio Olympics. On Day 4, he bagged two gold medals – in men’s 200 meter butterfly event and 4 x 200 freestyle relay.

His fiancée, Nicole Johnson, sat in the stands cheering him on.
Phelps and Johnson, who got engaged last year, started dating in 2009 but broke up in 2012. In 2015, they got engaged. The two have a three-month-old son, Boomer Robert Phelps, born on May 5 this year.
Johnson is a beauty queen who won the Miss California competition in 2010. “I love being onstage and competing in pageants,” Johnson said. “It’s an empowering position to be in, where you’re comfortable in your own skin.”
She finished ninth in the USA pageant.
In 2011, Phelps was present when Johnson’s crown was handed to Alyssa Campanella. Speaking with E! News at the time, Phelps had said, “I’m here for one reason and one reason only – Nicole.” In her career, Johnson has participated in seven competitions.
Nicole Johnson: An “Accredited Jewelry Professional”
As a graduate of the University of Southern California – obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, focusing on sports and entertainment, in 2007 – she became an “accredited jewelry professional” through the Gemological Institute of America, according to her LinkedIn profile.
As reported by the International Business Times, she worked with the Mercedes Benz dealership in the summer of 2009.
At present, Johnson works as a Sales Communication Manager at Yellow Pages.
