Michael Jackson Thinks Prince is Rude, Type of Person Who Would Commit Suicide
Michael Jackson and Prince may have had an almost-similar life and death, but the two music icons were not in good terms. Jackson’s secret audio clip recorded in 1988 for his autobiography “Moonwalker” has emerged as a new proof that the duo never got along.Advertisement
In the audio tape, Jackson was heard saying that Prince was rude and that he is likely to commit suicide or face an untimely death. He also said that Prince was very competitive and he took Jackson for a rival.
“I don’t like to be compared to Prince at all,” Jackson said in the tape as quoted by Mirror. “I have proven myself since I was real little. It’s not fair. “I have proven myself since I was real little. It’s not fair. He feels like I’m his opponent. I hope he changes because boy, he’s gonna get hurt. He’s the type that might commit suicide or something.”
The King of Pop and Prince were involved in a long-standing bitter rivalry since the 80s. It all began since Jackson’s “Thriller” became a huge hit and Prince delivered the equally iconic “Purple Rain” for the academy-award winning movie of the same title to counter Jackson’s rising popularity.
The stars shared striking similarities in the kind of life they led and also the nature of the death they both succumbed to. The Mirror reported that both were reclusive and preferred to stay away from the public and just spent a lot of time at their respective estates. For Michael Jackson it was his Neverland Ranch and for Prince it was the Paisley Park estate.
Prince died due to an overdose of opioid at his Paisley Park mansion in April 2016, while Jackson passed away in June 2009 as a result of propofol intoxication, Radar Online reported.
Jackson also said that Prince is the rudest person he met and that he was also mean to his family. “He was so rude, one of rudest people I have ever met. Prince is very competitive. He has been very mean and nasty to my family,” Michael Jackson said.
