For a long time, Meryl Streep fans have wondered if the actress could pull off the role as Batman. Although the fictional character is currently being played by Actor Ben Affleck, it looks like that won’t stop her from putting on the cape.


Recently, Meryl Streep went on Reddit to have an AMA along with Hugh Grant for Florence Foster Jenkins. While the actress answered quite a few questions, one fan asked, “Meryl – would you be up for playing Batman?”

According to Mirror, Meryl Streep replied, “Definitely! Boom. Yes.” Her response went viral and even caused enough traction to say that the Oscar winning actress could play the role better than Oscar Winner Ben Affleck.

While the “best actress of her generation” can certainly portray a jaw dropping Batman DC fans, it looks like actor and Director will be holding on to the Dark Knight role.

While Meryl Streep may not get the chance play the iconic role, she still has a chance to play as Batgirl in Ben Affleck’s Batman solo movie. It was recently hinted that the upcoming reboot series for Dark Knight could be featuring Bruce Wayne as an old and experience superhero. So, the possibility of Meryl Streep playing as superheroine in DCEU remains.

Meryl Streep’s Florence Foster Jenkins movie was released last week. Fans can still catch the film in theatres.

In other news, it was recently confirmed by EW that Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar will be reprising their roles in an upcoming feature animated movie called Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.

Fans can watch the Digital HD on October 11th and grab the Blu-Ray on November 1st. Check out the trailer below.
