German automaker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its portable power unit on Tuesday. Mercedes-Benz power storage plants have energy content of 2.5 kWh each.


The pricing of the storage units are not out currently but the company has started taking pre-orders. The company announced that up to eight units of battery modules can be combined together to built a capacity of 20 kWh.

The solar units are manufactured to make sure households can take power backups for the whole of the day without any loss. The units can be of great use for households and for businesses.

According to a Mashable report, Mercedes-Benz is all set to show off the device in the Intersolar Expo in Munich, due this week. The fair will be held from June 10 to 12.

The automaker has gauged the importance of solar power, and this investment came as an outcome. According to Mashable, it will be required to make massive solar expansion before 2050. This is to prevent climatic damage and sustain the balance. The investment from Mercedes after Tesla is quite significant in this respect.
