Over the years, Matt Damon has been known for portraying stunning roles. While the 45-year-old actor will be remembered for Saving Private Ryan and Good Will Hunting, he has set his career with The Bourne franchise.Advertisement
While fans are excited for his upcoming movie Jason Bourne, it looks like Matt Damon wants to move on from the franchise, probably as a superhero for DC or Marvel. But the actor said he wanted his friend Ben Affleck to direct it.
According to the Irish Examiner, during Matt Damon’s appearance at the premiere of Jason Bourne, he revealed, “I’d consider anything with the right director, but I can’t imagine there are any superheroes left, I think they’re all taken at this moment.”
He went on to say, “If he (Ben) was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben. If Matt Damon is ready to be a part of DCEU, what role could the actor possible be a perfect fit for?”
The news hit Reddit by storm. One user suggested that the actor do justice to the role of Deathstroke, a.k.a Slade Wilson from DC Comics.
While Damon would indeed be perfect to star as a mercenary, the actor has already confessed his struggle to stay fit at 45. He shared his difficulties with the stunts he performed for Bourne. “Everything is tougher at 45, just getting into shape is a much more difficult proposition. I started these when I was 29, it was so much easier.”
People are of the opinion that Matt Damon would be perfect as Hal Jordan or Green Lantern in upcoming DCEU movies. But if rumors of Green Lantern’s cameo role for Justice league is true, Damon should probably hunt for another DC superhero role.
“Jason Bourne” will release on July 29, 2016.
