Rumours have been ripe about Australian actress Margot Robbie and British film director Tom Ackerley’s marriage, which was dismissed by the “Suicide Squad” actress. However, a friend of the rumoured couple have confirmed that the rumour is true.
“It is well known within their friendship group that they got married – people refer to them as husband and wife,” the friend said according to Woman’s Day magazine. “Their own friends talk about it to other people. They did it on the down-low, without many people around them.”
“They don’t like to court publicity and they kept the early days of their relationship quiet too,” the Mail Online quoted another source as saying. However, the actress’s mother Sarie Kessler said earlier in August that if there was something Margot Robbie would have said it herself.
“She loves Tom, he’s the one, he’s the man in her life, he’s a gorgeous and delightful person,” she said from her home in Queensland, Australia. “They were friends and met while she was living in London, five friends together rented a house in Clapham, they loved it.”
Photos of the couple kissing on the street with Ackerley lifting up Robbie in his arms surfaced online recently. According to a report by Popdust, the couple got married in Australia last year and the event was attended by friends and family. However, the couple chose to keep the ceremony a low key event to avoid media attention.
However, Margot Robbie said she is currently focusing on her career and marriage is not on the first thing on her mind. She added that she has no plans of an engagement and settling down at present. The two met on the sets of Suite Francaise, a drama set in the backdrop of World War II in 2013.
