Logitech Unveils an Innovative Bluetooth Keyboard, Connects to up to Three Devices at Once
Logitech has unveiled an innovative new keyboard today named the Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 which the company is calling the “the first desk keyboard designed for use with up to three devices.”
“Typing needs have evolved and consumers are computing and texting across multiple screens, often using two or three different operating systems,” said Charlotte Johs, global vice president of computer peripherals at Logitech. “The Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 makes it simple for people to work, create or communicate quickly and comfortably, no matter what computing device or platform they are using.”
The K480, as Logitech says, allows users to connect up to three different devices to the keyboard and easily and quickly switch between them using the Easy-Switch dial found on the upper-left side of the keyboard. The connected devices don’t even need to be running the same operating system as Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Android, or iOS devices can all be connected via Bluetooth and switched between each other with the aforementioned Easy-Switch dial.
“Perfect for today’s multi-taskers, the Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 easily connects to your device through Bluetooth and allows you to type in comfort on a full-size desk keyboard with a familiar layout,” said a post on the Logitech Blog.
The keyboard features low-travel chiclet-style keys similar to many laptop keyboards that feature familiar keyboard layouts as well as shortcut/function keys. Connected mobile devices to the K480 can be placed on the devices “trench” which fits most mobile devices. It will be available in two color schemes – black or white. The K480 is powered by 2 AAA batteries and is said to have a battery life of up to 2 years.
The Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 will be available in the US and Europe sometime in September for an SRP of $49.99.
