LG K5, K8 Budget Phones To Launch This Week In Different Global Markets
LG Electronics is drawing a lot of attention with new releases from its K series. According to LG, the K5 and K8 will target specific markets in the first week of release. The LG K5 will initially roll out to consumers in Europe, Latin America and Common Wealth of Independent States (CIS). It should, however, be noted that the K5 will be called LG Q6 in Mexico.
People in Africa, Asia, Latin America, CIS and the Middle East will be the first to have access to the LG K8 handsets. Pricing details of both phones will be available once they are locally launched in the key markets.
President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile, Juno Cho, said, “The K8 and K5 will be fantastic choices for anyone who is seeking a smartphone with great looks, at a great price.” You can expect good quality and a host of varying features in the new phones, according to GSM Arena.
NDTV reports details about the specifications of the LG K5, which will sport a 5-inch FWVGA screen with 480 x 854 pixels. It packs 8GB of native storage space with options for expandable memory via microSD card. Camera features entail a 5MP rear shooter and a 2MP front camera. Under the hood, the device will be running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and will be powered by 1GB RAM clubbed with 1.3GHz quad-core processor.
The LG K8, which is also listed on LG’s own website, offers a 5-inch HD screen boasting 720 x 1280 pixels. The device will be equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core processor and will be backed by a 2125 mAH removable battery. The device supports 4G LTE and is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Other connectivity options include a micro-USB port and Near-field communication (NFC) technology.
