Several handsets from various brands including HTC, LG, Moto, Samsung, OnePlus are supposed to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates this year. Among the different brands, LG is expected to roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its LG G3, G4, G Stylo devices in the next few weeks.


The firmware was first released to the Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X in October last year followed by the LG Nexus 5 2013 phones. The software update was later released to Sprint LG G4 in countries like South Korea, India, Poland Europe and in the U.S. last year.

As of now, there is no announcement on the release date of the firmware OTA update for LG G3 devices. However, major carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile are expected to roll out the latest software update to LG G4 devices by end of January or early February.

Although you will have to wait a few more days or months for the firmware to arrive in your phones, LG has also confirmed the new firmware roll out to LG G Flex2, LG V10, other than the LG G3, LG G4 and LG G Stylo, reports IBTimes.

The other non-Nexus Android devices to get Android M update in 2016 include Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M9 Plus, HTC One M9, HTC One E9, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 Eye, etc.

The Motorola and Sony phones to receive the latest firmware update in 2016 are Moto X Pure Edition (2015, 3rd gen), Moto X Style (2015, 3rd gen), Moto X Play (2015), Moto X force, Motorola Droid Turbo (Verizon), Motorola Moto Turbo, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3+, Xperia C5 Ultra, etc. The three OnePlus devices to get the latest 6.0 Marshmallow update include OnePlus 2, OnePlus X and OnePLus One, reports Latin Post.

You can check this list to find out if your handset is eligible for the firmware update this year. However, U.S. fans can feel happy that a lot of devices will get upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the following months.
