Nickelodeon has announced the production of a live-action TV movie inspired by the action-adventure game show Legends of the Hidden Temple. In the show, kids competed to retrieve artifacts from a mysterious Mayan temple. The new TV movie will follow three siblings who must conquer a series of obstacles to remain alive.

The upcoming Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie will star actress and singer Isabela Moner. The 14-year-old is currently CJ Martin in the TV show 100 Things To Do Before High School.

Business Wire claims that production of Legends of the Hidden Temple TV is slated to start in March. The original game show debuted in September 1993, and it was aired on Nickelodeon for two years.

Nickelodeon has also announced a two-part animated Hey Arnold! TV movie. Hey Arnold! is written and produced by Craig Bartlett. The TV movie will pick up where the original series ended.

President of Viacom Kids and Family Group, Cyma Zarghami, stated, “The greenlights for the Legends of the Hidden Temple and Hey Arnold! TV movies are terrific examples of how we are bringing our beloved content back to life both for new audiences and the generation that grew up on them.”

“These TV movies will keep the spirit and essential themes of the original source materials intact, while branching out in new ways that will speak to and captivate today’s kids.”

However, according to AV Club, the announcement of these new TV movies was based on many adults relying on the network’s kiddie fare. Several flagship networks like MTV and Comedy Central struggle with ratings. Even investors are questioning the management’s strategy.
