Lauren Landavazo Dead: Facts About Kingston Drive Shooting Victim
One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting incident in Kingston Drive on Friday afternoon.Advertisement
The victims of the shooting, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in the alley behind the 5100 block of Kingston Drive, have been identified as Lauren Landavazo and Makayla Smith. Both were 13 years old.
While Landavazo died from her injuries, Smith was wounded but is now in stable condition.

Lauren Ladavazo dead: Victims are middle school students
As reported by the Times Record News, Wichita Falls Independent School District Superintendent Michael Kuhrt said the victims were students of the McNiel Middle School.
In a statement, Kuhrt said, “Please know that the district is coordinating efforts to provide grief counselors for students. As soon as we have more information about those resources, we will pass that along to you. As a district, we are saddened by this senseless act of violence and our thoughts and prayers are with all of those involved.”
The suspect, 20-year-old Kody Austin Lott, has been arrested by the police.
Lauren Landavazo dead: Fundraiser to help support family of deceased victim
As reported by the News Channel 6 Now, funds to help support the family of Landavazo are being raised by The Sam’s Club in Wichita Falls. Assistant Manager Bryan Givens said the community had come together in this time of need.
“This isn’t about Sam’s,” Givens said. “It’s about the associates that gave their time to come out here and cook. Because there was a tragedy here in Wichita Falls, and it’s about the people that came together because of the tragedy.”
An amount of almost $9,000 has been raised.
Another fundraiser is being planned by The Sam’s Club for Smith’s family next weekend.
