A source told Hollywood Reporter that Brad Pitt continues to be advised by his Hollywood lawyer Alan Hergott and by manager Cynthia Pett. Lance Spiegel joined the actor last week.
It was reported early this week that the divorce between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may take a nasty turn as the actress has not asked for spousal support or child support. The fight will be for the custody of the former couple’s six children, for which Pitt is leaving no stone unturned.
The 70-year-old Spiegel was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 5, 1945. He studied law at the prestigious University of Southern California Gould School of Law and earned his degree in 1971. He was admitted to the California bar in the same year, Law Crossing reports.
With an illustrious career spanning over 16 years, Spiegel has represented music mogul Russell Simmons and actors Heather Locklear, Charlie Sheen, and Michael Jackson in family law issues.
He previously represented actress-producer Eva Longoria in her split from NBA star Tony Parker and The Bachelor producer Mike Fleiss in his 2012 divorce. Spiegel also handled the divorce case of Kelly Rutherford and her estranged husband Daniel Gierschs and their custody battle for the son Hermes.
His law firm is called Young Spiegel & Lee. According to the company website, it has over three decades of experience in dealing with family issues. “Divorce, child support, domestic partnerships, and other aspects of family law can be complex and confusing without the counsel of a qualified Beverley Hills attorney,” it says.
It was reported previously by TMZ that Jolie, 41, hired divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who filed the case for her client. She is the same lawyer who helped Johnny Depp and Amber Heard get their divorce.
