A cracker of a game has started at Staples Center at 6:30 p.m. local time on Sunday. Los Angeles Lakers took on Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers won over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday to return to winning after a seven-match losing streak.
At the end of the first quarter, Blazers led 32-23.
Clippers are a more accomplished team than the Lakers. After winning over the better team of Los Angeles, the Blazers will look forward to beat out-of-form Lakers to improve their record. Kobe Bryant is leading the Lakers in terms of scoring but has recorded an ordinary shooting percentage with only 21 percent of three-pointers. The Blazers can feel confident in this regard.
For Portland, Meyers Leonard is out with an injury. Jordan Clarkson has shown decent scoring average for the Lakers. his average being 15.5 percent this season.
At half time: Blazers continued to lead 56-52, though Lakers reduced the margin by outscoring Blazers 29-24 in the second quarter.
Damian Lillard led the Blazers.
At the end of the third quarter: Blazers extended their lead to 84-74.
Jordan Clarkson and Kobe Bryant took charge to score for the Lakers. Clarkson scored 19 points and Bryant added 18 points. But the Lakers failed to produce anything special they needed in the final quarter.
Final Score: 107-93. Blazers won two in a row.
