“Kobe Bryant left two tickets for Lamar Odom to attend tonight’s game vs the Miami Heat. Odom is expected to attend, according to sources,”an ESPN reporter tweeted earlier.
The 36-year-old former Lakers forward is still in the process of recovery after being discovered unconscious at Nevada’s Love Ranch brothel in October. Odom suffered multiple strokes and was on life support. He made miraculous progress after over a month long stay at the hospital, according to the Bleacher Report.
“Looks like he’s doing fantastic, he’s the part of our family.” Lakers coach Byron Scott told the reporters the game.
Odom left the hospital in January and recent account of his activities show that he has slipped back into substance abuse. Odom was reportedly seen drinking alcohol at a California bar hours before attending Easter Day mass with estranged television star wife, Khloe Kardashian. The source also indicated that those closest to him, including Kardashian, encouraged him to join a rehab facility.
Odom had issues with drug and alcohol since the end of his NBA career in 2013. Bryant has been supportive of Odom throughout this period. Both have featured in the Lakers roster together for seven years from 2004-2011, a spell when Odom played the best basketball of his career. His career came to an end after he switched over to Dallas Mavericks.
