What's This?

Chandler Parsons will be a highly sought-after free agent this summer, and the Los Angeles Lakers are viewing the small forward as a top target, as per latest Lakers Rumors.

According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Parsons has received a ton of interest from suitors such as the Miami Heat, Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic Magic

Parsons, a former second-round pick, has overachieved in the NBA, averaging an impressive 14.3 points and 5.1 rebounds over the course of his four-year career. Though Parsons is not viewed as a max-worthy player, he is expected to receive a big pay day this summer.

Returning to Houston Rockets?

Parsons, drafted by the Houston Rockets, was let go by the team after GM Daryl Morey refused to match Dallas Mavericks’ offer sheet two summers ago. At the time, Parsons said he was “offended by the whole process” and wanted to prove his doubters wrong in Dallas.

With few years passed, it seems like Parsons and the Rockets could be re-united. “Houston was home for me for three years. I definitely would never count that option out (in free agency). I have great memories there. They have a great crowd, a great city to live in…I have nothing but respect and love for them. I would never count that out,” Parsons told Channel 33 podcast this week.

The Lakers and Parsons would be a great fit. Lakers are desperate for a quality 3-and-D player, a requirement which Parsons fits. Also, Parsons and his supermodel girlfriend will have plenty of opportunities to shine in the bright lights of L.A.

Besides Parsons, the Lakers are also targeting Harrison Barnes (restricted free agent) and Nicolas Batum to fill the void at the 3 spot. Even though the Lakers are expected to draft a small forward, if they keep their top-3 protected draft pick, it’s expected that they sign an established player to add depth to the team.
