An analysis of Lakers-Clipper face off

In recent encounters, the Clippers have dominated convincingly over their arch-rivals. Clippers have beaten Lakers in seven consecutive games.

Lakers only triumphed in the past three years against their city-rivals came in the opener of 2013 edition of the League. Kobe Bryant and his men narrowly edged past the Clippers 116-103.

Clippers not only won the 11 of the last 12 encounters, but statistics further boosts them as the Lakers conceded each of the 11 games by at least 20-point margin.

Clippers came within one game to feature in the Western Conference Finals, but gave away a 3-1 lead, the ninth team in the history of NBA to do so.

So the tide is heavily in favor of the Clippers. Moreover, Doc Rivers, head coach and president of basketball operations of the franchise has roped in Paul Pierce and Josh Smith, despite retaining star center DeAndre Jordan in a highly active off-season.

On the contrary, LA Lakers spent the off-season rebuilding their roster to match the best in the business. They added free agents Roy Hibbert and Lou Williams and picked No 2 D’Angelo Russell during the NBA draft. Russell, an Ohio State point guard, is expected to star in this coming season.
