Kraft Recalls Selected Cheese Products, Know The Affected Products

The Kraft Heinz Company has recently announced that it has opted to voluntarily recall a certain batch and varieties of its Kraft cheese as it was found that it can pose as a choking hazard to its consumers.


According to the Kraft Heinz Company, there is a possibility that a “thin strip of individual packaging film” may still remain adhered to the cheese slice even if the wrapper has already been removed. This can pose a serious choking risk to anyone who consumes it.

The products affected by the recall include the Kraft Singles cheese, Kraft American cheese and Kraft White American cheese. According to the Kraft Heinz Company, there has, so far, been 10 complaints received from consumers. Moreover, this also include three reports of choking on the affected Kraft cheese products. In response to the situation, the company said, “We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed.”

To know if your Kraft Singles or other Kraft cheese is affected by the current recall, the Kraft Heinz Company says you should check the products “Best When Used By Date” and Manufacturing Code.

The affected batch of Kraft cheese are the ones with the Best When Used By Date of 29 DEC 15 through 04 JAN 16. Meanwhile, it will also bear a Manufacturing Code of S54 or S55. In addition, the recall affects cheese in 3 lb, 4 lb and 1 lb packages.

The Kraft Heinz Company is asking all its customers not to consume the affected Kraft cheese products and to instead, return the product to the store for an exchange or full refund. As much as 36,000 cases of cheese are affected by the recent recall.

Moreover, the affected products were said to be shipped to various retailers located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman.

Furthermore, the Kraft Heinz Company has made it clear that the affected products were not shipped to retailers in Canada.
