Jeb Bush Drops Out Of Presidential Race
During a rally where his supporter cheered him on, Jeb Bush said he is withdrawing from the 2016 presidential race. It seems that being down in the polls in previous caucuses helped the former governor of Florida make up his mind about his candidacy. “The people of Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina have spoken and I really respect their decision. So tonight, I’m suspending my campaign,” Bush said.
During the recent South Carolina Republican Primary, Bush only managed to get 7.9 percent of votes. That amounts to 58,012.
Clinton Wins Nevada, Trump Takes South Carolina
The Nevada Democratic Caucus turned out in favor of Hilary Clinton who managed to get 52.6 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, her democratic presidential rival Bernie Sanders got 47.4 percent of the votes. Clinton was declared the winner after about 79 percent of the precincts in the caucus reported results.
On the republican side, Donald Trump emerged the winner of the South Carolina Republican Primary. Nonetheless, the controversial GOP candidate did not pull away significantly from the other candidates in terms of votes. Trump won with 239,626 or 32.4 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, Marco Rubio came in second with 165,805 or 22.4 percent of the votes. He followed closely by Ted Cruz who got 164,683 or 22.3 percent of the votes.
Airstrikes Kill 3,400 Women And Children In Syria
Barrel bombs and warplane raids done by the Russia and Syrian regime forces have resulted in the deaths of as much as 9,500 Syrian civilians, including 3,400 children and women.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Russian airstrikes in particular have killed 1,643 Syrian civilian citizens. Of these, 402 were under the age of 18 while 230 were women over the age of 18. The Russian Ministry of Defense has said that it has performed 440 airstrikes in Syria from February 10 to 16. The Syrian Observatory reports that Russian strikes have managed to kill 1,089 ISIS members.
Vixen Set To Make Debut In Upcoming “Arrow” Episode
DC Comics character Vixen is finally set to appear in the upcoming episode of “Arrow” called “Taken.” According to Movie Web, the role will be played by guest star Megalyn Echikunwoke who has voiced the character in the past. Catch Vixen’s appearance in “Flash” on February 24.
