ISIS Demand US Dollars
ISIS has been demanding that factories in al-Raqqa City in Syria pay in U.S. dollars. According to activists from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the currency is what ISIS requires from factory owners whenever they pay electricity bills. They are said to be charged a rate of 6 cents per kilowatt.
Student Charged For 3 LSD Overdoses In Villanova University Campus
A student linked to three cases of LSD overdose at the Villanova University campus was arrested. Police had reportedly found $9,000 inside a white shoe box along with 37 tablets of LSD inside 18-year-old Justin Yim. Yim, a freshman at Villanova, has been charged with distribution and intent to deliver.
According to NBC Philadelphia, police responded to a call on Friday night regarding a student who is out of control. The said student was said to have been Yin’s roommate who assaulted a woman as well as public safety officers on campus. The roommate was arrested and taken to the hospital. All three who had been overdose are doing okay, according to the Radnor Township Police.
US Journalists Detained In Bahrain
Four U.S. journalists are believed to have been detained in Bahrain on Sunday. According to Reporters Without Borders, they have been urging Bahrain to release Anna Day and members of her camera crew “rapidly and without harm.”
Bahrain police admitted that they had detained four foreign nationals. They suspect that the four journalists have committed a number of offenses, which include “entering Bahrain illegally having submitted false information to border staff, and participating in an unlawful gathering.” According to a report from Reuters, the U.S. State Department is aware of reports regarding U.S. citizens getting arrested, but declined to comment.
“Star Wars: Episode VIII” Goes Into Production
Leave it to “Star Wars” to give a good teaser. A YouTube video was recently uploaded to announce the start of production of “Star Wars: Episode VIII” with principal photography taking place in Pinewood Studios in London. The upcoming film will introduce viewers to a number of new cast members including characters portrayed by Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tan. Meanwhile, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis are all set to return.
The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and is expected to hit the theaters on December 15, 2017.
