President Obama And Michelle Obama Discuss Super Bowl Plans And What They’re Munching On


President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are like any other Americans. They love the Super Bowl, so much so in fact that the first couple is even hosting a Super Bowl party.

During an interview with “CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle King, President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama explained that in the White House, they tend to break up the Super Bowl watchers into three groups. Michelle Obama said that the “serious watchers” go to the Treaty Room while the kids go to an outside room where they are near the food. Meanwhile, there’s also the champagne room. The first lady explained, “That’s where my mother sits, where you really don’t know what’s going on but you’re close to the champagne.” And what exactly do they munch on during game day? The couple said they enjoy some chicken wings, pizza, nachos and guacamole.

North Korea Launches Missile

The U.S. Strategic Command confirmed that North Korea launched a missile into space at 7:29 p.m., EST last February 6. Stratcom officials were also able to confirm that “at no time was the missile a threat to North America.” Nonetheless, the Department of Defense says that Stratcom, NORAD, Northcom and Pacom will “remain vigilant in the face of North Korean provocations.”

Meanwhile, the United Nations also condemns the recent missile launch by North Korea. The United Nations Security Council issued a statement, saying it will “expeditiously” adopt a new Security Council resolution “in response to these dangerous and serious violations.”

At Least 11 People Dead In Taiwan Earthquake

A 6.4 earthquake struck Taiwan before 4:00 on Friday, killing at least 11 people including a baby. According to a report from the BBC, there are at least 30 people missing following the quake. More than 200 people have so far been rescued and at least 70 have already been taken to the hospital.

Disney Releases ‘Captain America’ Super Bowl Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” has been released for the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl TV spot clearly shows who among the Avengers will be going to Team Captain America and Team Iron Man. The Winter Soldier, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and Ant Man will be fighting alongside Captain America while Black Widow, Black Panther, War Machine and The Vision on Iron Man’s side. According to Deadline, “Captain America: Civil War” hits theaters on May 6.
