Kevin Love could care less about what the NBA trade rumors are about him. And it seems that the all-star forward is doing the right thing – ignoring it.
Love’s inconsistent and low-key play have made him a favorite of NBA trade rumors though Cavs coach Tyron Lue explains that it is all about sacrifice. With a star-studded team, Love doesn’t need to hog the ball or the limelight. He has a role to do and he seems to be executing it perfectly, Sporting News reported.
Cleveland Is Home Sweet Home For Kevin Love
Despite anxious moments which see Love getting an earful or ignored high-fives from LeBron James, all is well and good. In fact, one just has to refer to that Instagram post last year that led to Love’s new contract.
The reality of it all is that with James and Kyrie Irving around, Love has become the third option. He is no longer the top dog as he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the all-star forward is cool with the setup.
“We have so much hype and media and the good and the bad surrounding this team and it just comes with the territory. So, I love this team, love the coaching staff, my teammates, the organization. I mean, I don’t think it will ever leave but frankly, I don’t really give a s—,” Love said via Cleveland.com.
The NBA trade rumors (or are they suggestions) will continue but don’t expect them to come to fruition. Love may look like he is struggling but the truth is he is not.
He has found a home and he treats the Cavs as his second family. With a multi-year contract to his credit, Kevin Love ain’t going anywhere and rumors are unlikely to sway the tide.
“They’ll never be gone,” Love said. “That’s just something that you live with.”
