The Duchess of Cambridge was mesmerizing when she donned on a tiara and red elegant gown by Jenny Packham during a State Dinner hosted for the Chinese president and his wife. The occasion is the first time that Kate Middleton attended a state dinner.

According to Daily Mail, the tiara is a delicate Papyrus which is also called the Lotus Flower. It was previously owned by the Queen Mother and a favorite of Princess Margaret. The princess complemented her tiara with diamond-drop earrings that also matched the high-necked design of her dress which was personally made for her. Her dress has the same shade of red to that of the color of China’s flag, Daily Mail noted.

The state dinner, hosted for President Xi Jinping and China’s first lady Wang Huning, was only the second time that the Duchess of Cambridge has worn the Lotus Flower. During their wedding day, Middleton wore a Cartier Halo tiara according to Daily Mail.

During the Royal Procession for the State Dinner, Middleton marched into the ballroom with China’s first lady. Behind her is Prince William who marched with the wife for the Archbishop of Canterbury. At the actual dinner, the Duchess of Cambridge sat next to Mr. Xi in his right side. Queen Elizabeth sat on the left side of Mr. Xi.

It was high-flying events like this that may have placed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as the world’s most influential couple in a poll as reported by the Mirror UK. The Royal Couple beat David and Victoria Beckham who came in second; Brad and Angelina Pitt who came in fourth; President Barack and Michelle Obama in fifth; Bill and Melinda Gates, and Kim and Kanye west.
