Yet another top secret family vacation for Kate Middleton, Prince William and their kids? And this time around, the summer holiday destination is not the Swiss Alps, but Pau-Pyrenees in France. Will we see Kate Middleton topless?
The answer is no.
The last time Kate Middleton and Prince William were in France was in 2012. The royal couple back then did not have kids and were vacationing at a chateau owned by the Queen Elizabeth’s nephew in Provence. Closer Weekly and a few French magazines carried pictures of the couple sunbathing on a terrace and the pool practically topless, Mirror UK reported.
Previously, the royal couple were so annoyed their honeymoon pictures were all over the media that they sued the Australian publication. The idea and exercise of soaking up the sun in the country is not anything out of the world. But, it was for Kate Middleton, who is under public spotlight ever since her royal wedding to William in 2011.
Kate’s mother-in-law Princess Diana also faced a similar situation when she was sunbathing topless on Spain’s Costa Del Sol in 1994. However, the British magazines refused to publish topless pictures of Diana. The latter referencing to the incident said that it was “like a rape.”
The couple along with their two kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte touched down at the small south-western airport of Pau-Pyrenees on Tuesday afternoon, Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports. They were then picked up by two waiting blacked out Range Rovers from the tarmac. The airport refused to comment on the private holiday of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
However, a small group of royal protection officers and Scotland Yard personnel were seen at the place before the British royals arrived. The family-of-four traveled the short distance in a $10 million Cessna private jet owned by their close friend, the Duke of Westminster. They are reportedly visiting close friends and family around the small French village.
