Kate Middleton ‘Teary’ And ‘Romantic’ While On Taj Mahal Visit with Prince William
Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the world- famous Taj Mahal on April 16. This is their last stop during their India-Bhutan world tour. Reportedly, the Duchess of Cambridge was “emotional.”
The royal couple’s tour guide Rizwan Mohammed revealed to Us Weekly’s European Bureau Chief, Omid Scobie that the Duchess was particularly touched with the story behind the Taj Mahal monument. She was emotional after learning that Shah Jahan’s wife, Mumtaz, died on a very young age. “She said, ‘She really deserves this kind of building as they were madly in love with each other,'” the guide shared.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit to the Taj Mahal was given a ‘romantic’ touch as well. As they would be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on April 29, the Duchess reportedly told the tour guide that the Taj Mahal visit is the perfect thing to do before their anniversary.
The two also sat at the famous Taj Mahal stone benc, which is now called as the “Lady Di’s Chai.” While speculations claimed that they did it to honor Prince William’s late mother, a spokeperson said it was not like that at all. The spokesperson revealed that it was really was just a last- minute decision and had no reasons associated with Princess Diana.
According to Mirror, the said photo of Kate Middleton and William showed how strong their marriage is. On the other hand, the photo of Wills’ late mother alone on the bench marked the end of her relationship with Charles. She visited the monument on 1992 and told the press the experience was “very healing.” Charles and Diana announced their separation nine months after her visit at Taj Mahal.
The iconic chair in Taj Mahal is one of the major tourist attractions at the Unesco World Heritage site in Agra. It has been associated with Princess Diana worldwide because of her photo.
