Kate Middleton Prince William security at stake? The royal protection officer responsible for the couple’s security has resigned. The senior police officer was in charge of the protection of Anmer Hall, the royal couple’s Norfolk home and the queen’s Sandringham Estate.

Norfolk and Suffolk assistant chief constable Sarah Hamlin, 48, quit her job after 30 years of service. She drew a salary of 100,000 pounds ($131,123), Daily Mail reports.

Hamlin quit her job after a series of controversial tweets apparently criticizing her force publicly. She was appointed in 2014 to lead the Royalty Protection team providing security to William, Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte at their home Anmer Hall on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate, Mirror UK reports.

The royal protection officer rued that there was no place for her “values” within her force. Her 3,600 followers were taken aback by her decision to quit.

The mother-of-two did not respond to requests to clarify why she said her values no longer matched those of Norfolk Police which she joined at the age of 18. Hamlin’s shock announcement on Twitter comes after she hit back at complaints regarding a police terrorism exercise carried out in Norwich in June.

“I was sorry to hear the news that ACC Sarah Hamlin will be leaving Norfolk Police,” Lorne Green, Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk. He added in his three-and-a-half months as commissioner, he worked with Hamlin many times, and was impressed by her commitment and professionalism.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary refused to comment on Hamlin’s tweets. The force released a statement saying that “one of East Anglia’s most senior police officers has announced her retirement.”

The Norfolk force has been forced to make a series of cuts in the last five years to trim its budget by £25 ($32.77) million. The Norfolk and Suffolk Police are jointly many services, thus saving money. What will happen to Kate Middleton Prince William security now?
