Kate Middleton, Prince Harry Getting Closer Due to ‘Game of Thrones’ Bonding
Prince Harry and Kate Middleton’s friendly bonding is hard to miss nowadays, wherever they are spotted together, whether it’s the British Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations or weddings. The two have bonded over a number of things, which includes watching Game of Thrones and easy-going suppers.Advertisement
Prince Harry is often seen beside his sister-in-law, engaging in light-hearted conversations. The Duchess of Cambridge seemed to enjoy Harry’s jokes as much, flashing whole-hearted smiles at Harry’s good-natured humors.
Harry seemed to have developed a much stronger bond with Middleton than he has with any of his female friends, which include Eugenie, Beatrice and Zara. While there have been lots of speculations over the bonding shared by these two members of the British royal family, and online commentators even went to the extent of suggesting flirtations, a source close to them told the Mail Online.
“That’s not it, although he does have a knack of making women, including Kate, feel good about themselves, commenting on what they are wearing, for example,” the source said.
“But as Harry once said, Kate is like the big sister he never had. While William and Harry get on with Camilla and are delighted to see their father happy, they don’t really confide in her. She can’t replace their mother, and wouldn’t expect to,” the source added.
This is where Middleton stepped in and became a figure of support for Prince Harry. For the five years that Middleton and Prince William have been married, Harry has consistently been a close friend of his sister-in-law, joking and giggling together at parties and public ceremonies, the Hollywood Life reported.
The bonding was, of course, fostered by Prince William, and strengthened by the Game of Thrones series. It’s his sister-in-law that Harry prefers to confide into be it matters his love life or anything else. He doesn’t even mind taking cookery lessons from her.
“Kate has quite a different relationship with Harry than she has with William,” the Mail Online quoted a royal insider. “Harry appeals to her sillier side because he is carefree, footloose and loves banter. He finds things funny about people and says so.”
