The celebrity slash royal couple’s palate were put to test when they were challenged with the local delicacy in Canada. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were attending a food and wine festival in British Columbia this week, the Telegraph reported.

But the two were both game and accepted the challenge, which Prince William described as “quite challenging”. The media favorite Kate did not back down when offered with the absolutely phallic burrowing clam, which she described as “really unusual”.
“There is a slightly firmer texture to this. It’s really unusual. I’ve never seen it before. It’s so fresh from the sea,” the Duchess was quoted as saying when pressed to describe her experience after having a taste of Canada’s local dishes.
The Duke, meanwhile, admitted that the delicacy, which drew popularity over the past years outside of BC due to its rather phallic look, said it was “Presentationally they are quite challenging”.
Geoduck Clams Facts
Meanwhile, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, considered geoduck (Panopea generosa)as one of the most impressive clam in the Pacific Northwest. It is also the world’s largest burrowing clam, which could reach an average size of 2.07 pounds.
But the largest geoduck ever caught by the WDFD reached the size of 8.16 pounds and was found near Adelma Beach in Discovery Bay in 2000. It added that it reaches its full size by the year 15 and it can live for up to 168 years.
