Kate Middleton was reportedly greeted with catcalls by construction workers during her visit to Cornwall with her husband Prince William. The incident was awkward for the Duchess of Cambridge as William was by her side, but he did not bother to do anything about it.
The 34-year-old royal’s cool reaction may have been because he is not known to show his emotions in public. Kate and William were on a two-day visit to Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.
The royal couple are back to work finally after a lavish summer vacation in France in July. They visited the Truro Cathedral to support appeal for a new roof and also met with students from the Wave Project, which is designed to help reduce anxiety by helping youngsters to surf.
According to CDL, many construction workers catcalled Kate Middleton as she walked past them in a short, pink dress with William beside her. It has been reported that both Kate Middleton and Prince William laughed off the awkward situation when some builders tried snapping a selfie with the Duchess.
Builder Sam Wayne snapped a selfie with them his second royal snap in two years. He previously has taken a selfie with Prince Charles in 2014.
Kate was dressed in a pale pink dress by American designer Lela Rose, Daily Mail reports. Her Resort 2016 dress featured short sleeves, round neck and knee-length.
The Duchess of Cambridge paired it with nude wedges from Monsoon, which she previously wore on the royal tour of India in April. Kate also carried a nude box clutch.
Does this dress in any way look short or sexy? So what were all the catcalls about?
Surely when the Duke and Duchess are on a visit to Prince Charles’ duchy, any disrespect shown to her would be indirectly disrespecting the future king and the British royal family.
Besides, Prince William would not have reacted as he is second-in-line to the British throne. He is observed and scrutinized by everyone for what he does. Meanwhile when Kate and William were walking side by side their body language was also stiff.
