What's This?

Justin Bieber decided to deter his angry fans from taking a dig at his girl pal Sofia Richie, whom he has been having a great time with away in Tokyo. Rumors of the two’s romance started after they took to the social media to post photographs of their overseas adventures, which apparently were not approved by the Beliebers.

Richie, 17, first appeared in a picture on Bieber’s Instagram on Friday, following which she herself posted a flurry of images of them posing together on her page. The duo is currently holidaying in Tokyo, Japan, and looks like they are quite comfortable in each other’s company.

Even though the fans weren’t visibly pleased at what was going on, Justin Bieber chose to stand up for Richie, a model and daughter of music icon Lionel Richie, and threaten his fans to make his profile private if they did not stop spewing hatred at Richie.

“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand,” Bieber wrote next to a black an image of the two in which Richie could be seen holding a finger gun at Bieber’s head. “If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”

According to a report by the E! Online, multiple sources close to the duo insisted that they are “just friends” and nothing is brewing between the two, despite all the rumours that suggest otherwise. It is not the first time that the Canadian pop star is being linked with someone as he got into the summer groove. First it was Hailey Baldwin, daughter of Stephen, and then surfaced a series of images and video showing the star skinny dipping with Sahara Ray.

Bieber’s warning was of course not well received by his fans who thought he was choosing his week-old girlfriend over them. In no time hashtag #RIPBeliebers was trending worldwide, as many fans began posting images of themselves unfollowing their star, the Daily Beast reported.

A comment that appeared to have come from Justin Bieber’s former girlfriend Selena Gomez was being shared by the fans, several hours later. In the message Gomez reminded Bieber of the times during which his fans have stood by him.

“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only,” she reportedly wrote as quoted by E! Online. “Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”

Gomez even shared a collage of photographs with her fans with the tagline, “My whole life. You matter most. Thank you letting me do what I love every day.”
