We were wrong! After the release of “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the movie teased the arrival of Darkseid in the upcoming Justice League in 2017. To be precise, Lex Luthor indirectly mentioned Darkseid in two instances during the movie. However, a deleted scene that surfaced a month ago revealed Luthor having a chat with an alien inside the kryptonite ship.

Rumors suggested the unknown alien form to be none other than Steppenwolf. If you are not familiar with the DC comic universe, the DC Comics Encyclopaedia says he’s “the uncle of Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, Steppenwolf was the commander of Apokolip’s military during the reign of Heggra, Darkseid’s mother.”

While the supervillian character teased in the movie is nowhere close to his actual appearance, birthmoviedeath (sources from DC) believes he will be the antagonist for Justice League Part One. We can go by their source, since Gizmodo also considers them credible. But we’ll never know till we receive official confirmation from DC.

This doesn’t mean Darkseid won’t have screen time in Justice League Part One. It’s better not to expect any action, though. Unlike Marvel, DC Universe is packed with exciting cold-hearted supervillians. But, for some reason, DC is saving Darkseid for a bigger battle! We can expect the supervillian to get down to action in Justice League Part Two. Why? Characters like The Flash play a vital role in the movie; however, story-wise, The Flash will be brought into the DC Universe after Justice League.

The rumors are also starting to indicate that DC’s movie adaptation is from the New 52 Comics. So, if you’re in a hurry, you might as well grab the comics. DC is taking fans for a bumpy ride.
