“Jungle Book 2” and “Mary Poppins” have now claimed slots on the Walt Disney Studios release calendar. The two movies are now on its speedy development to hit the deadline.
According to Variety, the dates were claimed but the studio has not yet revealed the films that will occupy the slots. On July 28, 2017, April 6, 2018 and Dec. 20, 2019, untitled Disney live-action fairy tale movies will be released. Live-action movies will be released on Aug. 3, 2018 and Dec. 25, 2018.
According to Screen Crush, two films will be shown on Nov. 2, 2018 and Nov. 2, 2019. That means a total of seven films.
‘Jungle Book 2’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ have been confirmed. In addition, “Cruella” starring Emma Stone, inspired by the “101 Dalmatians,” and “A Wrinkle in Time” with Ava DuVernay as director, based on a novel by Madeleine L’Engle, are now rolling.
“Jungle Cruise” starring Dwayne Johnson and Tim Burton-directed “Dumbo” are also in production phase. Angelina Jolie’s “Maleficent 2,” “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” and an untitled movie on “Tinkerbell” are also in the development stages.
There will be some films mentioned above that will be scheduled on additional dates. Seven dates were specified, so the remaining ones will take the next batch of schedules.
Remakes of previous films have been giving so much money to Walt Disney, and the trend is most likely to continue beyond 2019. Films of the same nature are now planned by the studio.
With the success of the Avengers and Star Wars, films of the same genre will continue to dominate the movie industry. It is understandable that Disney is creating movies out of these newly acquired franchises to keep up with the trend. Despite these trends, it is great to watch these classics in a new light and introduce them to a new generation of Disney fans. Watch out for the exact schedule of “Jungle Book 2” and “Mary Poppins.”
