While fans have been expecting a showdown between Marvel and DC, it looks like directors James Gunn and Patty Jenkins have other plans. Earlier, both directors were caught in a Twitter exchange that left their followers awestruck.
Earlier on Sunday, Gunn tweeted a picture that says “Coexist.” Both Marvel and DC superhero logos are combined. The Guardians of the Galaxy director also said that, “Whoever did this, awesome.”
Fans appreciated the Marvel director for his response toward the rival comic book movie universe. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins also shared her views on the issue. She tweeted, too, wishing “there was a W in Co-exist though.”
Director Gunn responded to Jenkins with, “For the sake of harmony, let’s change it to Cow-exist.” Furthermore, he said, “Can’t wait to see your [Wonder Woman] your movie.”
Jenkins replied that she “So enjoyed Guardians and can’t wait for the next!” Both directors were able to halt the rivalry among fans on Twitter and managed to change their perspective as well. Check out their tweets below.
Wonder Woman will star Gal Gadot, who will also appear in Justice League.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is introducing new characters in the main team as well. Pom Klementieff will be joining them as Mantis. Actor Kurt Russell will be playing Ego the Living Planet. The character was teased in the debut movie as well. Currently, the movie’s plot remains unknown.
DCEU’s Wonder Woman will be released on June 2, 2017. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be hitting theaters on May 5, 2017.
