Texans are doing their best to uncover the truth behind the Jade Helm 2015, a military war game which will be held on July 15 to September 15. Hundred of Texans believe the government is digging tunnels under Walmart in order to conduct military attacks against civilians. Some Texans believe a martial law is looming and President Barack Obama’s dictatorship will ensue.

Jade Helm 2015 sparked conspiracy theories

Texans have been wary of the Jade Helm 2015, a U.S. Army Special Operations Command military exercise, since April. A town hall meeting in Bastrop held at the time had one resident asking a military spokesman if the U.S. government is planning on detaining any American citizens. Another resident said she does not trust the government and thinks that Obama is declaring a martial law anytime to hinder the next presidential election.

A Reuters report noted that one Bastrop resident described the Jade Helm 15 as “something that the rest of the country should be worried about.” The resident said the government “already has FEMA trains that oddly enough look like the trained that the Nazis used in WW2.”

Reuters also noted an Army map that tagged Texas as “hostile territory.”

“Such labeling tends to make people who have grown leery of federal government overreach become suspicious of whether their big brother government anticipates certain states may start another civil war or be overtaken by foreign radical Islamist elements which have been reported to be just across our border,” Louie Gohmert, a Republican congressman from Texas, was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Also around this time, Governor Greg Abbott dispatched the Texas State Guard to keep an eye on the Jade Helm 15. The move was supported by 39 percent of Texan voters and 85 percent of the right-wing Tea Party group, Reuters reported.

Mark Jones, chair of the Department of Political Sciences at Rice University in Houston, said Abbott’s move benefits the party.

“Republican leaders don’t want to do something that antagonizes these groups to such as extent that they rally around an opponent in the Republican primary. The conspiracy theories tend to get amplified in Texas because we are a large state, with very active groups,” Jone told Reuters.

The Counter Jade Helm surveillance operation

Marine Pete Lanteri found the Counter Jade Helm surveillance operation which currently has 6,000 volunteer members. These volunteers, consist of ex-military and law enforcement, will keep an eye as the Jade Helm 15 takes place.

“We’re going to be watching what they do in the public. Obviously on a military base they can do whatever they want. But if they’re going to train on public land we have a right as American citizens to watch what they’re doing,” Lanteri told the Chron.

One member of the Counter Jade Helm operation is retired firefighter and sheriff’s deputy Eric Johnston. He is a surveillance team leader. One of Johnston’s members is a licensed pilot who volunteered to fly his own aircraft to conduct surveillance. Johnston and Lanteri agreed that there is something fishy about the Jade Helm 15. They both have a gut feel about the military exercise.

Jade Helm 2015

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command has announced Jade Helm 2015 in March. The USASOC said the department conducts war games such as Jade Helm to practice core special warfare tasks.

“While multi-state training exercises such as these are not unique to the military, the size and scope of Jade Helm sets this one apart. To stay ahead of the environmental challenges faced overseas, Jade Helm will take place across seven states. However, Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) will only train in five states: Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. The diverse terrain in these states replicates areas Special Operations Soldiers regularly find themselves operating in overseas,” USASOC said in a statement.

“This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for ARSOF since they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice,” the department said.

Nice to know where the crazy people live.

The crazy people are the ones who trust our government. Could you be one of them?

      • PhiloDufresne

Not trusting the federal government to tell you the whole truth is a healthy form of skepticism. Believing it is going to send troops into states and occupy them as part of some sort of master takeover is paranoia. Could you have it?

Here’s a idea why don’t they train along
The border. Give them some live targets

Hasn’t Texas suffered enough from the embarrassment of sending Shrub out on the world stage and Perry the moron?
Texas is a beautiful state and these conspiracy nutjobs (including Abbott) DO NOT give a true representation of the wonderful people that live there.
For everyone else that lives in the other 49 states, please know that these mentals DO NOT speak for the majority in Texas.
