Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader, women behind the designer jewelry brand Lady Grey, received an online order from Ivanka last week for their $84 14-karat gold-plated earcuff, the NY Daily News reported.
Ivanka Trump Duped
Flattered by Ivanka’s order, the two penned a handwritten thank you note and sent it directly to Ivanka with her order. But because the two didn’t share the same political views, they decided to donate the proceeds of the sale to somewhere that aligned with their ideals.
The jewelry makers, who began selling designer jewelry since 2009, posted on their Instagram account a picture of the note they sent to Ivanka. Based on the same report, the two decided to publicize their message to Ivanka to make a statement that everyone should make a stand on things they believe in, no matter how big or small.
“While we were flattered to receive an order from Ivanka Trump, our social and political views couldn’t be further from those of the Trump campaign. When we received her order, we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organizations that were more aligned with our ideals,” the two women said in a statement.

With only a few more months before the U.S. elections in November, tension between political parties and supporters alike is increasing. But Lady Grey’s action did not sit well with netizens who have expressed displeasure with the move.
“Word of mouth is the best/worst advertising and this uncouth post with cause me to speak of your company negatively. I hope this post goes viral and ruins your company,” one commenter said.
