ISIS News: Arbaeen’s March
Sensationalized reporting continues in the Western world regarding Muslims and terrorism. There had been an zero media coverage of Arbaeen’s march on Sunday and Monday.
Imam Hussein was martyred in a battle with the massive army of Yazid. Hussein refuted allegiance to the tyrant caliph.
Yazid was the caliph of Umayyad dynasty. This dynasty promoted the same type of extreme Islam as ISIS and Wahhabist preach in the present, said Mint Press News.
Millions of marchers gathered in Karbala as they participated in the annual Arbaeen Procession.
The participants had come from over 60 countries. A majority of them had marched directly to Karbala from other Iraqi cities like Najaf and Baghdad. They represented ultimate devotion.
Sunni Muslims along with followers of other religious groups such as Christians join the march to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. This procession takes place every year.
Arbaeen, or mourning, is the tradition followed by the Shia Muslims.
However, the religious procession had been allegedly turned into a political one in the light of Islamic State terror attacks. In fact, the procession is used as a medium to denounce the violence and atrocities subjected by the extremist faction.
Several Muslims had been killed and displaced by the caliphate declared by ISIS. Furthermore, the number of Muslims killed was increasingly larger than those killed in attacks in the West.
In addition, the Arbaeen’s march has gathered exponential significance in recent years. It had reportedly turned into a campaign against Islamic State terrorists who have often targeted the pilgrims.
ISIS News: Is It Untrue?
It is true that a huge number of Muslims participated in the annual of mourning at the Arbaeen’s procession. However, the procession had taken no stance of protest against the extremist group.
Accordingly, there was no media blackout either.
Independent UK reported that the march was absolutely religious. There was no political motivation to it.
Although, there have been attacks on the pilgrims, multiple participants chose to make the journey on foot. They traveled through Islamic State controlled area despite of the fear of getting killed.
It was wrongly reported that Western media never gave coverage to the march. In contrast, every media outlet covered the entire march as it should be.
Alaraby reported that the procession took place every year. Moreover, it wasn’t an unprecedented event, which simply took place all of a sudden.
