Apple has been criticized a lot for not adopting bigger screens like Samsung and other brands. The company with its last phones, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, even tried bigger screens but reverted back to the 4-inch screen with iPhone SE. But that does not mean the upcoming iPhones will sport smaller screens. In fact, iPhone 7 may don a bigger screen than what we saw on the 6S phones. To know whether this 4-inch iPhone is worth buying, read our iPhone SE review.
First and foremost, do not expect anything new with the iPhone SE. The look has been borrowed from iPhone 5 and no new features have been introduced with the device. Honestly, this phone was manufactured for the masses, not for the audience that Apple usually targets. But yes, this iPhone brings to you the best of all the smartphones that the company has launched to date. As the site dedicated to the phone reads, “The A9 is the same advanced chip used in iPhone 6s. The 12‑megapixel camera captures incredible photos and 4K videos. And Live Photos bring your images to life. The result is an iPhone that looks small. But lives large.” It is safe to say that iPhone SE is in some ways a 4-inch iPhone 6S which looks like iPhone 5. Having said that, do not expect this phone to perform like the 6S or 6S Plus, or even have all the features of these phones.
The biggest drawback of this phone is its size. Being small, it may slip from your hand or fall off the pocket even before you know about it. But if you were waiting for an iPhone that fits your budget and comes with a good battery life, the iPhone SE is the phone for you. In an iPhone SE review written for Gizmodo, Alex Cranz writes, “I unplug at 7:30 in the morning and am hunting for my charger by 8 p.m. I can handily go 24 hours with the SE, only plugging it in when I finally roll into the office each morning.” At least, when the phone is new, you can expect good battery life.
In short, it’s a new phone packed with features and specs of iPhones launched till date. This includes even iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. So, if you have always wanted to buy an iPhone but couldn’t afford it, iPhone SE is giving you a chance to own an Apple product. And it is definitely worth giving a shot. Tomorrow, it might be easier to upgrade to iPhone 7. What say you?
