iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus: Jet Black vs Matte Black – How To Avoid Scratches On Glossy Version

The color choices on the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have expanded to include two variants of black – The Jet Black and the Matte Black. Which one is better?

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is out and is blowing people’s minds with all the advanced tech that it is packing, namely dual camera lens, dual stereo speakers, replacement of headphone jack with all new lightning port, antenna design change etc.

But what Apple has really impressed iPhone lovers with is the expansion of the color range in which iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are both available.

People are already surging towards preordering the Jet Black iPhone7, which is the newest inclusion, something that users have been demanding Apple, to come out with for ages, reports Heavy.

Jet Black vs Matte Black

With the Jet Black being the current favorite among tech lovers, the Matte Black iPhone, which is not as glossy and eye-grabbing as the Jet Black one, is being sidetracked. But is the Jet Black iPhone 7 really worth the growing craze?

That’s highly doubtful. Critics and tech experts are gradually discovering the cons to owning a Jet Black iPhone 7 as opposed to the Matte version. While the Jet Black certainly looks appealing from a distance, it is highly prone to scratches and fingerprint marks!

The glossy outer covering of the Jet Black iPhone 7 has not been treated in any additional manner than any other regular glossy smartphones available in the market. This, unfortunately, leaves room open for it to become a fingerprint magnet, reports CNET.

If you are not the one who likes to wipe down your iPhone after every use, the Jet Black iPhone is probably not the right choice for you, that is if you don’t want to show off an iPhone which is covered with sweaty fingerprints.

Somewhere else where the Jet Black iPhone 7 lacks are its scratch-proof abilities, reports The Verge. While the Matte Black version does well to fend off minor scratches, the Jet Black one bruises like a peach.

In order to protect it from unwanted scratches, one would need to put on an external mobile covering, which again negates the whole point of having a beautifully glossy jet black iPhone.

So in the end, all that’s glossy is not always worth it!
