Apple will reportedly be releasing a new iPad Air 3 come this March. According to reports, the company is gunning for a killer device by adopting the iPad Pro design, incorporating smart connector, speakers and more.
Apple is expected to hold an event next month to reveal several new products including the iPad Air 3. Just like other upcoming Apple products, leaks have been nonstop since the internet first got wind that the device is in the works. A new report from Engadget shows an alleged schematic of the device. Whereas a number of leaks are dismissible, the report claims that the source is a reliable one. According to the schematics, the iPad Air 3 will come packed with features similar to the iPad Pro.
These include quad speakers to boost audio experience and a Smart Connector by the side compatible to a number of “smart accessories.” The feature supports previous claims about Pencil support coming soon. Furthermore, users may also be treated to LED flash considering the extra hole just underneath the camera.
More importantly, the iPad Air 3 appears like it will only be relatively thicker compared to the current 9.7-inch iPad. Although the screen size may remain the same, the schematics revealed imply that the iPad Air will measure 6.15 mm thick, 169.60 mm wide and 240 mm tall. Considering the iPad Air 2’s dimensions at 6.1 mm thick, 169.5 mm wide, and 240 mm tall – there will only be around 0.1 and 0.05 improvement in width and depth, according to 9to5Mac.
Along with the iPad Air 3, Apple is expected to release the 4-inch iPhone 5se in the same event. As with other leaks and expectations, all information should be taken with a grain of salt until the Apple releases the official and final details of the products mentioned.
