The two tablets are identical in terms of dimension and weight. Both measures 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm and weighs 437 grams. Once again, the Touch ID is another feature embedded in the home button. While there is not much difference with regards to design, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is a well-proportioned and well-balanced tablet, notes Pocket Lint.
When it comes to display size, the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Pro have a 9.7-inch screen with screen resolutions 2048 x 1536 with a pixel density of 264ppi. What’s noteworthy is that the iPad Air 2 features an anti-reflective screen with enhancement in color and contrast.
However, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has a lot brighter and less reflective surface, marked with a wider range of color options and a new technology called True Tone technology, capable of adapting new intensity and color of the display to complement with the surrounding environment.
The iPad Air 2 camera features are not as good as the iPad Pro. The former boasts an 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera, while the latter features a 12MP rear sensor marked with 4K video recording and the front shooter is 5MP.
The intriguing fact is that the iPad Pro has a True Tone flash for its rear camera, along with a Retina flash added to the front. Similar to the iPhone 6S, the iPad Pro camera has excellent capabilities to take great pictures.
A crucial noticeable difference is that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro camera is capable of handling autofocusing with True Tone flash and Retina flash, while the iPad Air 2’s screen has to be tapped for creating focus, notes DigitalTimes.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro comes in three versions, 32GB, 128GB and 256GB with prices $729, $879 and $1,029, respectively. On the contrary, the iPad Air 2 16GB variant will cost you $529, while the 64GB version is priced at $629.
