What's This?

Maserati made it, after all. In fact, the Levante marks the Italian automaker’s first foray into the world of SUV’s. Maserati has likened it to a Mediterranean wind that can transform into an irresistible force of nature in an instant. It makes for an exhilarating ride for any driver who dares to get behind the wheel.

Maserati says the Levante was built and designed with a certain pedigree. After all, the automaker has been in the business of crafting fast cars since 1914. For the Levante, they had chosen a look that is distinctively Italian. The SUV carries Maserati’s design signature of three iconic air vents on the front wings and the trapezoidal C-pillar with the distinguished “Saetta” logo.

The Levante is meant to be bold and aggressive. Its tapered headlights have been separated into two elements, with the upper headlight connected to the radiator grille. Meanwhile, the rear features a tapered back window that almost makes you think the Levante is a sports car.

The Italian automaker was determined to build something “100% sports utility vehicle, 100% Maserati.” It means the SUV is ready for anything, and by anything, they mean even the most challenging terrain or weather condition imaginable. In fact, the Levante uses a powerful V6 60° engine that can propel the SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds in the S model. Moreover, it can easily reach top speeds of 264 km/h. The Levante is available in three models: Levante, Levante S and Levante Diesel. And in case you’re wondering, Maserati assures everyone that they are all Euro6-compliant.

This SUV also uses a Q4 intelligent all-wheel drive system along with an advanced active air suspension. Meanwhile, Maserati’s Skyhook system ensures shock absorbers with continuous variation so passengers can switch from sporty to relaxed rides anytime. As for style, Maserati says the Levante features exclusive Ermenegildo Zegna silk interiors. As for sound, owners will be treated to audio perfection courtesy of Bowers and Wilkins Surround Sound.

According to a report from Auto Express, Maserati will make the Levante Diesel available in the UK this summer. Price will reportedly start from £54,000.
