The ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m. California time. The guests will start arriving around 6:30 p.m. on the red carpet. In the UK, the red carpet event will be at 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. for the ceremony itself. The awarding will be held on February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
This year, the host is Chris Rock. He is an American comedian, actor, voice artist, director, writer and producer. He previously hosted the 77th Academy Awards in 2005 and will be returning to the same stage after 11 years. He has several movies and television series to his credit.
One burning controversy of Oscars 2016 is the alleged whitewashing issue. Most nominees of the show are white-skinned people.
