The Untitled Illumination Entertainment 2016 Project 2 has finally an official name. The musical comedy starring Matthew McConaughey, John C Reilly, Seth MacFarlane, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly is named “Sing.” The film in question will open on December 21, 2016 as scheduled previously.
The animated film in question will have Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon. He is a koala who used to run a theater, which is not performing too well. Buster decides to organize the world’s greatest music competition to boost his business. Characters come in, and the musical-comedy begins.
Tori Kelly will play the timid teenage elephant, while MacFarlane will play the artist mouse. Reese Witherspoon will be playing the pig with her 25 piglets. Taron Egerton will be the young gorilla and Scarlett Johansson will be a punk rock porcupine. Each of the character has its own story which will take the comedy to its climax.
As it is a musical comedy, music has to be good. There are 85 hit soundtrack enlisted in “Sing” by Illumination Entertainment. The movie is being written and directed by Garth Jennings. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy will be producing “Sing.”
There is one more release lined up by Illumination Entertainment. “The Secret Life Of Pets” is scheduled in Summer, while “Sing” will be released after that.
