IKEA Not Impressed With Kanye West: Rap God Not ‘Famous’?

Having got to know of the 39-year-old musician’s desire to work with them, Ikea Australia responded to the former in a lighthearted manner. The brand in fact took to social media and unveiled a sketch of what a Kayne West and Ikea collaboration would look like, WWD reports.
Taking to Facebook, Ikea posted a sketch of a ready-to-assemble bed, bearing the Yeezy label. Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the brand said that they were impressed with Kanye’s interest, but there was no collaboration now, CNBC reports.
“Hey Kanye, we’d love to see what you create. We could make you Famous,” said the company, referring to the rapper’s recent song, “Famous.” The song has raked up lots of controversy and criticism from Taylor Swift, who features in the lyrics.
Meanwhile, during hi interview, Kanye said that he wants to make his Yeezy collection more affordable for his young fans. Besides, he also wants to be able to design furniture for college dorm rooms.
“The Life Of Pablo” rapper said that he has to work with Ikea, make furniture for interior design, for architecture. Kanye wants to design “a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm.”
The husband of Kim Kardashian said that he should be allowed to make a bed, a chair, because he wants all of those. Meanwhile, the dad-of-two was seen visiting the Ikea head offices in Almhult, south Sweden, in March.
From then on, speculation has been rife that Kanye West and Ikea may come up with collaboration, Time reports. The rapper features in the latest campaign of Balmain along with his famous wife Kim.
The A-list couple share the spotlight with models like Joan Smalls, Jon Kortajarena, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ysaunny Brito, Jourdan Dunn, Jordan Barrett and Josephine Skriver. Everyone from the “Balmain army” is dressed in the French house’s Fall 2016 collection.
The video for the campaign is also the music video for Kanye West’s latest song “Wolves.” It highlights the close relationship between music and fashion.
