Google will be releasing the official version of the Android 7.0 Nougat update. While the market will have to be satisfied with the developer preview for now, there are now more details about the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat to HTC, Samsung and Nexus devices among others. When will people get it?


Android 7.0 Nougat Preview

Google is slated to release Android 7.0 Nougat update this summer. In preparation for this, Google released the fifth and final preview of the Android Nougat. According to the tech giant, the preview offers the latest version of the Android Nougat emulator for final testing of apps. It also comes with the latest system behaviors, UI, bug fixes and final N APIs. More importantly, it offers pre-installed apps and system optimizations.

According to Tech Crunch, as far as testing goes, there are now user-facing features for this version. Nonetheless, Google initiated minor tweaks occasionally to the user interface in between the previews released.

As with other Android releases, the Nexus series is first in line. Specifically, the Nougat Developer Preview is accessible to Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9 and Pixel C devices. It is also additionally available to General Mobile 4G Android devices.

“This preview gives developers the near-final system updates for all of the supported preview devices,” said Google.

Android 7.0 Nougat Release

As for the official release, many believe that August is the closest release date of the said update. Device manufacturers like HTC have already expressed that they will be adopting the said update soon. Some devices in line include HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 units. As for Samsung, PC Tablet notes that the company will most likely have the update around December or the first part of 2017.
