Android 6.0 Marshmallow update continues to roll out to several OEMs including HTC. This time, reports suggest that the company is rolling out the firmware continuously to devices such as the HTC Desire 816, One M8, Butterfly 3, One M9, Desire 826 and other devices for US carriers.
Previously, HTC One M8 Google Play Edition got the update in November while the unlocked versions received it around December in the previous year. As for other carriers like Sprint, the HTC One M8 version got access around January and it now appears that the trend will continue for other carriers. HTC’s Mo Versi confirmed the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Verizon HTC One M8 devices through a tweet:
However, AT&T users will have to wait for the US carrier to go get the approval since no word has been out yet. As for other devices like Desire 816, One M8, Butterfly 3, One M9, Desire 826 and other models under other carriers, HTC is expected to roll out the firmware soon, according to Neurogadget. As with other Android updates, people will have to confirm with their carriers on more information including final date of release.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is not the only thing keeping HTC busy. According to reports, the company is getting ready to release the HTC One M10. According to a report from Tech Radar and tip from @evleaks, the expected date of release of the HTC One M10 will be around April 19. Of course, like other release, other details remain unavailable so there might be changes along the way. People should take details with a grain of salt. The device is expected to come out with a 5.1-inch screen with QHD AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 processor and the Adreno 530 GPU. It will also sport a 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage (23 GB of which is free).
