Here Are The Highlights Of The 2015 Teen Choice Awards
The 2015 Teen Choice Awards boasted top-notch performances from the biggest stars in the industry. The event, which happened Sunday, was hosted by Ludacris, Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”), and Josh Peck.
While the hosts themselves were entertaining – Gina even showed her rapping skills alongside Ludacris himself – the winners and the acceptance speeches were enough to make the awards show memorable.
Nina closes the pages of Vampire Diaries
Nina Dobrev has addressed her departure from the hit show “The Vampire Diaries.” While accepting the award for choice TV actress in a sci-fi or fantasy, Dobrev began wearing vampire fangs in her mouth. She then took them out and said, “That’s right! I don’t need these anymore.”
“But change is necessary,” Dobrev added, and when she accepted her surfboard trophy, she said, “And remember, change is coming! So hold on and enjoy the ride. It’s going to be fun.”
Perrie Edwards > Zayn Malik
Perrie Edwards, who used to be the next Mrs. Zayn Malik, went onstage to perform with her fellow Little Mix members. They sang “Black Magic,” and it was clear the each member was giving her all.
It was also clear that Perrie didn’t need black magic herself to remain strong despite Malik’s unceremonious breakup.
What’s more, the girls won Choice Music Breakout Artist award!
Emotional, not furious
The highlight of the event, of course, had to be Vin Diesel’s speech about Paul Walker, when the cast of “Furious 7” took to the stage to accept the award for Choice Movie: Action.
“I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us,” said Diesel.
“One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we have the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.”
The late Paul Walker also won another award that night – Choice Movie Actor: Action.
