American actress, film producer, and former fashion model Halle Berry is said to be under negotiations to join Matthew Vaughn‘s “Kingsman 2” as a high-ranking CIA official.
Vaughn co-wrote “Kingsman 2” with English screenwriter and author Jane Goldman. The Kingsman sequel will find Welsh actor Taron Egerton engaging in a fight against American–British actress Julianne Moore. The first film, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” launched the 26-year-old Egerton to stardom.
An article published by The Hollywood Reporter states that it didn’t take long before Kingsman 2 was greenlighted at 20th Century Fox. Moore has signed on to star in the sequel as the villain, but specific details of her character are not yet made known to the public, according to Deadline.
Berry most recently starred in the upcoming action thriller film “Kidnap,” helmed by Luis Prieto and written by Knate Gwaltney (famous for his work on Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa). “Kidnap” is set for a May release by Relativity.
The studio plans to unleash “Kingsman 2” in theaters in June 16, 2017. “Kingsman 2” is the sequel to “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” which tells how a spy organization recruits an unrefined but promising teenager into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program.
