‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ 2: One Guardian Removed?
Fans were already excited that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 will be adding Mantis as a new member among the guardians. While some details have been revealed on the fictional character, it looks like James Gunn had plans for including more than one new guardian.Advertisement
Recently, Director James Gunn actively participated in a Q&A via his official Facebook page. While Gunn was asked many fascinating questions regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and other MCU query, his answer below stood out among them.
One fan questioned if James Gunn had plans on including another character from the comics but it failed to “make the final cut.”
Gunn replied, “Yes. In my initial treatment I had a whole other Guardian involved. I loved the character and loved including him/her, and thought my take was fun. But I started to feel that there were two many characters in the story and for all of the characters to get their due, I needed to remove one. So this character left, and Mantis stayed.”
Since then his response has gone viral. Fans speculated that it could have been Starhawk or Vance Astro. Although James Gunn decided not to reveal that character, fans believe that there’s possibility for the mysterious guardian to appear in GOTG 3.
Director James Gunn is known for being interactive with his fans all over social media. Gunn has also responded to many fan theories posted on twitter and has also made many announcements regarding his movie. Recently, James Gunn also confirmed that their will “probably” be continuation after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 will be releasing on May 5th. 2017. Currently, fans are still waiting for the movie’s teaser trailer. Unfortunately, James Gunn didn’t confirm its exact dates but said “Not too long. Also not too soon.”
